Fifth Thursday Workshop – Melissa Whitehead

We are delighted to have Melissa Whitehead back at TFA on Thursday 30th August, this time to lead her own Fifth Thursday Workshop.

Originally from the Highlands of Scotland, Melissa Whitehead is a graduate of the Newcastle University Folk Degree course. After developing a love of teaching at a young age Melissa went on to study instrumental teaching at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and now works as a private violin and fiddle tutor in the Newcastle area.

Melissa has chosen two great tunes, a slow air called ‘The Nameless Lassie’, and a slip jig ‘Ho Ro Mo Bhobag An Dram’ which you might recognise from the fabulous album Fire On! by Blazin’ Fiddles. All are welcome to come along and join us – no need to book. £6 on the door at St Mary’s Heritage Centre, Gateshead.
